Chile Patagonia Torres del Paine Lago Grey Hike & Glacier Cruise

After breakfast, we were driven a long way on a bouncy jeep to Hosteria Lago Grey. We hiked for about 40 minutes to a river, enjoyed a snack, and hiked back to the lodge.

I enjoyed a microbrew from Port Natales in the lounge overlooking the lake. Teresa drank her diet coke with glacier ice.

We were picked up and driven to the start of a path, walked 30 minutes over a trail and swinging bridge (6 persons max) to a beach where we were picked up on a zodiac and taken to our boat. At the beginning, huge waves were breaking across the bow but our ride was amazingly steady.

Most of the other passengers were college students who would be sent home immediately if they imbibed alcohol, took drugs, or smoked. That left more pisco sours for us.
Our guide pointed out that the lake has NO life. Most of the 3 hour cruise was in bright sunshine as we once again took TOO MANY PICTURES of the glaciers.
