Chile Santiago

Santiago was our base and we found ourselves often staying overnight here between flights to other destinations. Fortunately, our hotel was situated in the pleasant Providencia neighborhood. On our first day, Nicola led us on an orientation tour which showed Santiago is a typical Spanish colonial city. The Pre-Colombian Archeology Museum was highly rated but was small relative to other museums we have visited.

One outing was to the fishmarket which we found to be expensive and touristy. Another outing was a cable car trip up one side of the mountain and a funicular down the other side of the mountain to dinner in Bella Vista. Lots of fun!
