We reached the Cliffs of Moher after crossing the Shannon River by Car Ferry. On better days, we would have been hiking along the many trails to view these breathtaking cliffs. Today, we took our pictures and then huddled in the visitor center fighting with hundreds of other bus tourists for lunch and coffee.
Mary Howard led us across the Burren, a vast limestone plateau. Her enthusiasm was contagious and soon we forgot about the weather and were fascinated by the wild flowers that flourished in fissures.
