OAT arranged a lunch provided by a Druze family in their home. Druze have strong community ties to those who share their faith, but are also loyal to the countries in which they reside.
Fazia prepared a delicious meal most of us enjoyed while sitting on the floor, with shoes off.
After lunch and answering questions about her community and faith, Fazia took us to a roof where we could view Syria. This is where she and others caught on the Israeli side of the border could see and try to call out to relatives caught on the Syrian side of the border.
